As YOUR next mayor, I’ll tackle crime and drug use that for too long have torn communities apart. Our keiki and kupuna must be made to feel safe and no longer worry about being victimized. Comprehensive solutions will focus on equipping police with the personnel, funding and training needed to restore safety island-wide.
Also essential will be additional resources for education, job growth and treatment options proven effective at stopping illicit drug use and homelessness.
Expanding recreational opportunities in Kona, Waimea, Keaau and elsewhere will help with this effort by making communities healthier, wealthier and safer.
New economic sectors and clean industries must be encouraged to keep our keiki home and provide them with a living wage.
